(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald (D-Camden/Burlington) released the following statement Friday after Gov. Phil Murphy announced his intention to reverse rules that expanded concealed carry gun regulations:
“New Jersey’s gun safety laws are among the strongest in the nation and we must keep them that way. Overturning these unsafe regulations has been a top priority of mine, and I commend Gov. Murphy for doing the right thing to keep our streets safe and ensure laws are enforced as intended.
“Our country has seen an epidemic of gun violence. Weakening common sense gun safety is not an option, which is why I’m thrilled that we now have an ally like Gov. Murphy working hand-in-hand with the Legislature as we work to end gun violence and ensure the safety of all New Jerseyans.
“I look forward to even more progress on gun safety in the months ahead.”
