Greenwald Statement on Passage of FY 2023 Budget Bill

Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-Camden, Burlington) issued the following statement on the Fiscal Year 2023 State Budget bill (A-4402), which was advanced by both houses of the State Legislature today:

“The budget we passed today puts the needs of New Jersey residents front and center. With a focus on making New Jersey a more affordable state to raise a family and grow old, the budget will make a true difference for many of our working and middle class families.

“This year’s budget delivers unprecedented support for our communities, while balancing our commitment to fiscal responsibility. With record property tax relief for homeowners and renters under the $2 billion ANCHOR program, record tax cuts, record investments into education funding, and a $500 Child Tax Credit—we are providing support and economic security for our residents.

“With a 6 billion surplus we are ensuring the sustainability of new tax relief programs while preparing for the future. This budget looks ahead to set our state on the path to continued success.

“I am proud of the balanced budget we have passed today to meet the needs of New Jerseyans.”
