Gusciora Praises Court Decision to Allow Same-Sex Marriages to Begin in NJ on Oct. 21

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora on Thursday praised the decision by Mercer County Superior Court Judge Mary Jacobson to deny the Christie administration’s request for a stay, thereby allowing New Jersey to begin permitting same-sex couples to marry on October 21.

“This is just a simple recognition that everyone is equal under the law.

“This is a great day for our state and for the thousands of families who have been waiting patiently to be recognized equally by their government.

“I want to thank Judge Jacobson for recognizing that the equality promised in our constitution should not be denied a moment longer. As this case moves forward, I hope the high court will share this same sentiment,” said Gusciora (D-Mercer/Hunterdon).
