Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) issued the following statement Thursday in support of the Democratic budget:
“There’s absolutely no reason that a government shutdown should even be an option right now. Democrats have before us a responsible budget that adheres to everything we believe in, and yet there are those who believe it’s acceptable to jeopardize the entire state by opposing it.
“Voting against this budget would hurt working families, seniors, young people in Trenton and New Jersey residents who need services available at state offices.
“Speaker Prieto is right in standing against the Horizon bill, especially when we have no idea what the future holds for health care in America. It’s time for everyone to stand up, follow the speaker’s lead and support this budget.”
