Gusciora to Participate in Multi-State Summit on Energy & the Environment at UPENN

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) will participate in a multi-state Energy and Environmental Summit sponsored by the Council of State Governments on Friday at the University of Pennsylvania.

Among the topics that will be discussed at the day-long summit are carbon reduction proposals, the future of sustainable water, and renewable energy policies.

Gusciora will be moderating a session regarding renewable energy, titled “The Future of State Clean-Energy Policies,” where he will be discussing, among other things, components of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (A-1493) as well as other pending legislation (A-2203) that would require a certain percentage of the electricity sold in New Jersey to be from renewable energy. He will also be facilitating several discussions with state legislators from Maryland, New Hampshire and Quebec.

Gusciora’s colleague, Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (D-Bergen), will also be participating in the summit.

The event will kick-off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 6, at the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, which is located on the upper floors of the Fisher Fine Arts Library on UPenn’s campus at 220 S. 34th St, Philadelphia, PA, 19104.
