JASEY DISAPPOINTED & FRUSTRATED THAT STUDENTS WILL LOSE FROM RACE TO THE TOP ERROR

Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey today expressed her profound disappointment over New Jersey’s failure to secure nearly $400 million in education funding under the federal Race to the Top program due to an application error.

“Amidst all the uproar over the Race to the Top application, I’m saddened and frustrated that our students are ultimately the ones who will suffer because of this error. In an increasingly competitive global economy, every additional tool is needed to help ensure success.”

“The Race to the Top funds would have enabled us to raise our educational performance and support needed reforms. Sadly, it is our students’ education that has been compromised. It’s my sincere hope that we can learn from these mistakes to put together a winning application should the federal government make funds available in round three next year,” said Jasey (D-Essex).
