JASEY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN PANEL DISCUSSION OF OLDER SUBURBS IN WHITE HOUSE SUMMIT

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) – Assemblywoman Mila M. Jasey (D-Essex) today announced she will participate in a panel discussion of the “Forum on First Suburbs, Inclusion, Sustainability and Economic Growth” co-sponsored by and held at the White House on Monday.

“Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange are prime examples of what are often called “first suburbs” or older suburbs surrounding cities,” said Jasey. “I look forward to a lively discussion led by national experts detailing the challenges facing older developed metropolitan communities, hearing suggestions for potential remedies through federal policy and discussing ways to develop and support a new agenda for these communities.”

Topics of conversation will include sustainability, inclusion and economic growth.

Jasey is one of an exclusive group of 140 municipal, business and community leaders from around the country who have been invited to participate in the forum. The event is co-hosted by the White House, the New Jersey Regional Coalition and Building One America.
