Jasey Statement on the Passing of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Mila Jasey (D-Essex/Morris) released the following statement Thursday on the passing of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green:

“I am so sad to hear of the passing of my friend and mentor Jerry Green.
“I served with Jerry on the Housing committee for a decade, and had the honor to be his vice-chair. I learned so much from him. No one knew more about housing policy, and no one worked harder to make housing more affordable in this state.
“I also got to see his leadership qualities first-hand. He listened to everyone, and while Jerry was a tried-and-true Democrat, he treated everyone the same. His priority wasn’t partisan politics. It was doing the right thing for the people of New Jersey. His wisdom was second to none.
“I will miss Jerry very much. I can’t picture the Assembly without him. His loss will be felt in many, many ways.
“I send my prayers and condolences to Speaker Pro Tempore Green’s family.”
