Jimenez Named Vice Chair of Assembly Health Committee

With an extensive background in the legislative and healthcare fields, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez has been named Vice Chair of the Assembly Health Committee for the 219th legislative session.

With certification in Diagnostic Radiography, Jimenez works as an MRI, CT and Mammography Radiographer Specialist when she’s not at the State House. As such, many of the bills she has sponsored during her eight years in the Assembly are related to the availability and coverage of various healthcare services.

During the last legislative session, Jimenez sat on the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee, as well as the Regulated Professions Committee and Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee.

“Because of my experiences as a radiographer and member of the Health and Senior Services Committee, I understand many of the healthcare challenges facing the residents of our state,” said Jimenez (D-Bergen, Hudson). “I’m pleased I will have the opportunity to work with my colleague Dr. Herb Conaway, who chairs this committee, to help effectuate change on behalf of New Jersey patients and providers alike.”

Jimenez has also served as Vice President of the West New York Housing Corporation Board for over nine years, and Vice Chair of the West New York Housing Authority for more than a decade.
