JIMENEZ TAKES OATH OF OFFICE AS REPRESENTATIVE OF BERGEN & HUDSON COUNTIES IN ASSEMBLY

(TRENTON) — West New York resident Angelica Maria Jimenez on Tuesday took her oath of office to represent the 32nd Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly.

Jimenez was sworn-in during an afternoon ceremony at the State House in Trenton. She is among sis first-term Democrats to take their oaths at the start of the 215th Legislature.

“I have tried to dedicate myself to the betterment of my community through my volunteer work, and I’m proud that I now get to do it as the legislative representative for the 32nd district,” said Jimenez. “I’m thankful for the opportunity, and excited about the work that begins today.”

Jimenez is a state licensed radiology technician employed by a private firm in Jersey City and served as vice president of the West New York Board of Education. Jimenez is also a founding member of the West New York Women’s Club, and an elected member of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.

“I am humbled by the trust the residents of Bergen and Hudson counties have placed in me, and I will work hard to represent them duly,” said Jimenez. “There will be a learning curve, but I’m ready to join the Democratic caucus in the Assembly and get to work for the good of all New Jerseyans”

The 32nd District covers Edgewater Borough, Fairview Borough, East Newark Borough, Guttenberg Township, Harrison Township, Kearny Township, North Bergen Township, Secaucus Township and West New York Township.
