(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (D- Bergen) released the following statement:
“From the very beginning it was clear that the GWB lane closures were an evident abuse of power by the members of this Administration’s top staff. That’s now been doubly affirmed by Mr. Wildstein’s guilty plea. As for the indictments, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but hopefully in the coming weeks and months we will finally learn how far up the staffing ladder this went.
“For five days Fort Lee was gridlocked, inconveniencing thousands of residents, commuters, emergency personnel and school busses. The residents of Bergen County deserve to understand why they became the target of an act of what appears to be political retribution.
“Today marks a step toward justice for the shameful actions taken by the culprits of the GWB fiasco two Septembers ago.”
