In response to the release of the Legislative Select Oversight Committee’s report on the Murphy campaign’s handling of a sexual assault allegation, committee member Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (D-Bergen) released the following statement:
“This extensive report speaks for itself. Katie Brennan’s serious allegation was not taken seriously by people who had played integral roles in the incoming administration, and those who clearly should have known far better.
“Hiring policies and procedures don’t work if they are ignored. Going forward, we must not only come up with ways to improve these policies, but ensure they are appropriately followed. The Legislature’s work doesn’t end today. ”
