“Everyone agrees that spending cuts are a must, but we must make intelligent choices. Gov. Christie’s veto of a bill supporting health care programs for women and newborns, for instance, is short-sighted and will cost taxpayers dearly in the years to come.
“Cutting a $7.5 million program that saved taxpayers $150 million last year – as Gov. Christie has done -is not an intelligent choice. Even in the toughest economic times, we cannot turn our backs on health care for women and newborns…”
