Jones Statement on NJ Transit/Legislative Transportation Hearing

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones (D-Camden, Gloucester) issued the following statement on today’s joint transportation committee hearing:
On Testimony from NJ Transit:

“There must be a long-term plan in place for these major changes, four and five years ahead, to be able to inform commuters ahead of time of rail closings, especially if the station is to be closed for months.”

On Atlantic City Closing:

“Our casinos are doing better, employment is up and having the train station closed is an inconvenience to residents and businesses. This just sends a bad message when we’re trying to improve Atlantic City. There needs to be a clear end date for construction. We can’t have this drag along indefinitely. It would be grossly unfair to commuters.”
