Lampitt Statement on Select Committee Report

Following the release of the Legislative Select Oversight Committee’s report on the Murphy campaign’s handling of a sexual assault allegation, committee member Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (D-Camden, Burlington) released the following statement:

“When an employee comes to their manager to share their story of sexual assault, harassment or abuse from another employee, that allegation should be properly investigated. Speaking up about sexual assault is difficult enough, and no one should be made to feel as if they are not being heard.

“Unfortunately, it appears Katie Brennan was not heard by her superiors. This is wholly unacceptable. As we move forward, I’m committed to working with my colleagues in the Legislature to make sure fair, comprehensive policies and standards are in place to appropriately investigate allegations, protect survivors and hold abusers accountable.”
