Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez (D-Middlesex) released the following statement on Governor Phil Murphy’s decision to send another deployment of State Troopers to Puerto Rico to assist in disaster relief efforts following recent earthquakes:
“Last week, I traveled to Puerto Rico to see firsthand the aftermath of the recent earthquakes. While there, I had the pleasure of spending time with the New Jersey State Troopers deployed to Puerto Rico. I can say personally that these men and women are providing critical assistance to the island’s fragile recovery and their presence is most welcome.
“I applaud Governor Murphy for continuing to support Puerto Rico by sending another deployment of a State Troopers. These deployments are a tremendous act of kindness on behalf of our State and I am proud of New Jersey’s ongoing commitment to Puerto Rico.”
