(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez (D-Middlesex) released the following statement urging Governor Phil Murphy and his administration to issue guidance for summer camps and children’s activities in the event they will be able to operate in the next few months:
“With the summer camp season quickly approaching, many programs remain in the dark about how they will operate in the coming weeks or months, or if they will be able to open at all. Providers will need time to adequately prepare and develop plans to keep children and staff safe. Without any guidance, they have been left to speculate and attempt to plan for the season on their own.
“We understand that issuing safety information and reopening guidance will be a huge undertaking. However, it needs to be done sooner rather than later. We must make sure camps and recreational programs have ample time to adapt to these unprecedented times. The first step in ensuring their preparedness is to develop and issue guidance.”
