In response to the news that Senator Teresa Ruiz has been chosen to serve as the Senate Majority Leader in the 2022-2023 session – the first Latina to hold this position in the history of the Legislature – Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement:
