Lopez on New NJHMFA Program Helping NJ Homeowners Financially Impacted by COVID-19

Assembly Housing Chair Yvonne Lopez (D-Middlesex) issued the following statement on the announcement of the Emergency Rescue Assistance Program or ERMA under the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency that will provide up to $35,000 in assistance to homeowners impacted by the pandemic.

“The Emergency Rescue Assistance Program will provide invaluable assistance to New Jersey homeowners, for whom the last two years have been a financial rollercoaster. Many are struggling to cover their mortgages, property taxes, and other housing costs. This direct funding will help us save homes and keep residents out of foreclosure. ‘ERMA’ is an added value to the many programs administered under NJHMFA to help New Jersey residents.”

The ERMA application portal will open for applications at: www.njerma.com on February 8, 2022, at 9 AM.
