(TRENTON) – Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-Atlantic) has been appointed to serve on the New Jersey General Assembly’s Tourism and Gaming and Regulated Professions committees.
Speaker Vincent Prieto said Mazzeo’s experience as a public servant and a longtime small business leader, as well as his Atlantic County roots, should prove beneficial to the committees.
“It is always helpful to have an infusion of new ideas and experiences and I am confident that Assemblyman Mazzeo will bring both to these committees,” said Prieto (D-Bergen/Hudson). “With almost 30 years of business experience and more than a decade in public office, Assemblyman Mazzeo is no stranger to the legwork involved in creating policy, and making tough, but sensible decisions. The experience he brings is diverse and extensive, and I’m certain the committees will be better for it.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Assembly’s Regulated Professions and Tourism & Gaming committees,” said Mazzeo. “As a lifelong Atlantic County resident and municipal leader, I know how important Atlantic City’s economy is to the entire region. That’s why fighting to protect Atlantic City’s gaming and tourism interests is one of my top priorities.”

The Tourism & Gaming Committee is responsible for monitoring issues that affect casinos and the tourism industry. The Regulated Professions Committee is responsible for monitoring, updating and amending laws dealing with licensed professions, such as architects or electricians.
Mazzeo was sworn in as the newest representative of the 2nd Legislative District during the Assembly’s reorganization meeting earlier this month. The 2nd district includes Absecon, Atlantic City, Brigantine, Buena, Buena Vista, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom, Hamilton (Atlantic), Linwood, Longport, Margate City, Mullica, Northfield, Pleasantville, Somers Point and Ventnor City.
