Mazzeo Statement on Atlantic City Recovery Bills to be Considered Thursday by the Assembly

(2nd LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-Atlantic) released the following statement Wednesday upon the addition of three Atlantic City recovery bills (A-3981-3984-3985) to Thursday’s Assembly voting session agenda:

“For more than a year we’ve rightly debated and discussed the road to recovery for Atlantic City.
“Those discussions will continue in the coming months, as we have much more work to do, but we can now take another real step towards putting Atlantic City back on the road to fiscal recovery.
“The PILOT legislation – passed with bipartisan support in both houses of the Legislature – gives Atlantic City the certainty it needs to plan for the future while pursuing the trend of meaningful cuts they must continue to make.
“The governor’s conditional veto left intact the entirety of the actual PILOT program, and with our concurrence to his minor changes, we hope he will indeed sign it and the other bills into law soon to stabilize property taxes for thousands of Atlantic County’s hard-working middle-class families and seniors.”
