Assemblyman John McKeon (D-Essex, Morris) released the following statement in response to the United States Supreme Court ruling today in favor of workplace protections for LGBTQ employees:
“I celebrate today’s ruling alongside the LGBTQ community, its advocates and allies. The right to go to work and make a living without fear of discrimination is only part of what gay and transgender Americans gained today.
“This ruling no doubt puts us on stronger footing to secure basic non-discrimination protections on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in all spheres of life. While we still have a way to go and more work ahead of us, today is certainly of great significance.”
