McKEON: NJ WANTS A GOVERNOR, NOT AN ENTERTAINER

(27th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblyman John F. McKeon (D-Essex) released the following statement Wednesday after Gov. Chris Christie’s appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”:

“Gov. Christie may prefer to spend his time chatting about Snookie and The Situation on late night television, but I think New Jersey taxpayers would prefer he spent it talking to Speaker Oliver and Senate President Sweeney about property tax reform.
“The governor’s ungentlemanly comments on Tuesday about the Assembly Speaker have taken his administration to a terrible low. I hope an apology is forthcoming.
“In the meantime, it would be nice if the governor accepted invitations to discuss property tax reform with legislative leadership rather than agreeing to television appearances. The people of New Jersey elected a governor, not an entertainer, and it’s time Gov. Christie got busy doing some real governing.”
