(TRENTON) — Assemblyman John F. McKeon (D-Essex) had the following published recently in The Courier-Post:
“The new legislation was negotiated with the Assembly, with the Assembly’s priorities reflected. That was the goal all along. That’s what democracy is all about.
“Unlike the initial bill, this one pertains only to Atlantic City.
“Unlike the initial bill, this is not an immediate dictatorial state takeover.
“Unlike the initial bill, Atlantic City’s locally elected officials — the ones chosen by the voters — respectfully get the chance to right the ship…”
