(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-Hudson), an Assembly sponsor of a joint resolution designating one night in November as a “Night of Conversation” on health topics, held the first annual event on Thursday, November 16 at the Mary Bethune Center in Jersey City.
“With the help of local organizations and partners, we had a very successful first event,” said McKnight (D-Hudson). “I would like to thank everyone involved in the event. A “Night of Conversation” was the perfect opportunity to open up dialog on drug and alcohol addiction in our communities. I look forward to continuing this conversation throughout the year.”
McKnight was a sponsor of the joint resolution (SJR-29/AJR-58) designating November 19th of each year, or the Thursday one week before Thanksgiving if the 19th falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, as a “Night of Conversation” in which families are encouraged to talk about drug addiction and alcoholism. The bill was signed into law in January.
