(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-Hudson) is hosting a tenants’ rights seminar today at The Bethune Center to educate residents who rent of their rights.
“There are many laws on the books to protect renters that tenants may not be aware of. This lack of awareness can lead to renters being taken advantage of by unscrupulous landlords,” said McKnight. “The purpose of this seminar is to educate residents about their rights so they can protect and advocate for themselves. I encourage all residents who rent their homes to attend.”
The seminar will feature the Jersey City Division of Tenant Landlord Relations, KellerWilliams Realtor Tonya Keyes and The Waterfront Project, Inc. Executive Director Dinah E. Hendon, Esq.
The seminar will run from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 4 at The Bethune Center, 140 MLK Drive, Jersey City.
McKnight represents the 31st Legislative District, which includes Bayonne and Jersey City.
