McKnight: Same Old Governor Christie

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-Hudson) issued the following statement Tuesday criticizing Gov. Christie’s decision to use money allocated for preschool expansion and tuition aid grants to help fund his opioid initiatives.

“Once again the governor shows that his promises mean very little.
“Gov. Christie made a commitment to spend $25 million to expand preschool education and increase tuition aid grants by $6.5 million. Now he’s reversed course at the expense of our children.
“There is no question the opioid epidemic must be dealt with, but surely there is a way to do this without limiting preschool education and making college less affordable for students. Preschool is expensive. So is college tuition. You’re solving one problem by making another one worse. That makes no sense.”
