(TRENTON) – In response to the release of the Legislative Select Oversight Committee’s report on the Murphy campaign’s handling of a sexual assault allegation, committee member Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight (D-Hudson) released the following statement:
“As a woman, as a mother and as a legislator I was extremely disheartened by the failed acknowledgement of Katie Brennan’s plea for help. No allegation of sexual assault should ever fall through the cracks like it did in this case.
The work this committee has done gives us a path forward to ensure no one else experiences this injustice. The recommendations equip us to develop legislation that holds people accountable for their actions and guarantees a voice for survivors.”
