Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin has selected Assemblywoman Angela McKnight to serve as chair of the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committee.
As the founder and CEO of AngelaCARES, Inc., and the owner of Care About You, LLC, two organizations centered around supporting and caring for senior citizens, McKnight brings valuable experience and a passion for improving the lives of New Jersey’s elderly residents to the committee.
“I am confident that Angela is the right person to lead the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committee,” said Speaker Coughlin (D-Middlesex). “I have every faith in her ability to craft meaningful legislation that will allow New Jerseyans of all ages to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.”
As chair of this committee, McKnight will oversee the consideration of legislation that works to prevent disease, promote well-being at all stages of life and enrich the quality of life for residents and communities throughout New Jersey.
“It is a true honor to serve as chair of the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committee, and I thank Speaker Coughlin for trusting me with this important assignment,” said McKnight (D-Hudson). “Much of my personal work focuses on caring for senior citizens, and I am excited to bring that experience to this new role as I work with my colleagues to address the issues impacting New Jersey’s elderly residents.”
McKnight has represented Legislative District 31 in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2016.
