** MEDIA ADVISORY ** BERGEN LEGISLATORS TO PUSH FOR CONTINUED PRE-SCHOOL FUNDING IN FACE OF THREATENED CUTS

Weinberg, Gordon, Vainieri Huttle, Voss, Wagner to Join With Advocates to Detail Early Childhood Success Rates

With tangible proof in hand, members of Bergen County’s legislative delegation will hold a press conference on Tuesday to push for continued quality funding of pre-school education in New Jersey in light of increased threats of funding cuts.

Senators Loretta Weinberg and Bob Gordon and Assembly members Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Joan Voss, and Connie Wagner will join with advocates to detail findings on the demonstrable success shown by students who attended pre-school prior to elementary school.

The press conference will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11 am at Garfield Early Childhood Learning Center, 241 Ray Street, Garfield, NJ.

The legislators will be joined by representatives from Garfield Early Childhood Learning Center and the Englewood School District who will highlight the success pre-school plays for children of all socio-economic backgrounds.
