***MEDIA ADVISORY — THURSDAY*** ASSEMBLY HEALTH COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS DEPARTMENT PRIORITIES WITH STATE HEALTH COMMISSIONER

(TRENTON) — The Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee is scheduled Thursday to hear testimony from state Department of Health and Senior Services Commissioner Poonam Alaigh, MD, MSHCPM, FACP, on her priorities for the department.

“From doctor retention to hospital closings to senior health and well-being, New Jersey faces many unique challenges,” said Assemblyman Herb Conaway, MD (D-Burlington), the panel’s chair. “It will be interesting to see how Dr. Alaigh plans on prioritizing the resources of her department and how the Legislature and this committee may be able to provide assistance.”

The Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee is scheduled to meet 10 a.m., Thursday, June 10, Committee Room 15, Fourth Floor, State House Annex, West State Street, Trenton.
