MONDAY – Medical Marijuana Status, Offshore Wind Energy, Long-Term Care & Delaware Bayshore Tourism Top Assembly Committees

(TRENTON) – Status of state medical marijuana program, facilitating offshore wind energy projects, helping provide compensation relief to long term care facilities and promoting Delaware Bayshore tourism highlight Monday’s Assembly committee meetings.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
· The Assembly Regulatory Oversight Committee will meet at 2 p.m. to hear testimony regarding progress in the implementation of the state’s medical marijuana program and the differences between the enabling legislation and the regulations that implemented the program.
· A3796 (Andrzejczak) – Requires DOT to include certain tourist-oriented facilities in New Jersey Delaware Bayshore in Tourist Oriented Directional Sign Program. 10 a.m. Tourism, Gaming and the Arts.
· AR209 (Mazzeo/DeAngelo/Spencer/Singleton/McKeon) – Urges BPU to expeditiously adopt regulations needed to facilitate construction of offshore wind energy projects and to establish energy efficiency portfolio standards; and ACR143 (Mazzeo) – Urges President and Congress to reinstate and extend production tax credit for wind energy. 10 a.m. Telecommunications and Utilities.
· A3928 (Schaer/Mazzeo/Lagana/Benson/Quijano) – “Uncompensated Pending Medicaid Beneficiary Payment Relief Act”; provides compensation relief to long term care facilities. 10 a.m. Health and Senior Services.
· A4094 (Conaway/Singleton) – Permits administration of epinephrine auto-injector device by persons who complete approved educational program. 10 a.m. Health and Senior Services.
· A4184 (Eustace) – Requires Division of State Lottery to reduce advertising expenses for multi-state lottery games by sharing expenses with other participating states and to conduct evaluation of advertising expenses for State lottery games on annual basis. 10 a.m. Tourism, Gaming and the Arts.
· A3972 (Mazzeo/Burzichelli) – Allows casino and out-of-State racetrack to negotiate amount casino will pay for simulcast races. 10 a.m. Tourism, Gaming and the Arts.
· The Assembly Higher Education Committee at 10 a.m. will hear testimony on the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, the VETeach Program at Stockton University and the College Readiness Now Program.
· ACR220 (Singleton/Jasey) – Encourages four-year public and independent institutions of higher education to offer baccalaureate degree programs that cost no more than $10,000 in tuition and fees. 10 a.m. Assembly Higher Education.
