MORIARTY: WHERE DO WE LINE UP FOR OUR FREE HELICOPTER RIDES?

(4th LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT) – Assemblyman Paul Moriarty (D-Gloucester/Camden) released the following statement Thursday on Gov. Chris Christie’s refusal to reimburse taxpayers for using a state helicopter for personal and political means:

“I’m not sure what the governor doesn’t understand here.
“This is very simple – the governor used a taxpayer-paid helicopter for personal and political reasons. That’s wrong.
“This type of excuse-making is yet another example of why we need the Government Reality Check Act (A-3880) I’ve sponsored. I plan to review the bill thoroughly and make whatever changes may be needed to ensure it stops abuses like this from happening again.
“I also look forward to free helicopter rides for all my constituents.
“After all, if the state police superintendent says these rides don’t cost anything and they’d be flying anyway, then I know thousands of New Jerseyans and their children who would love to take a free helicopter ride.
“Where do we line up?”
