Having served as Chair of the Assembly Women and Children Committee during the previous legislative session, Assemblywoman Gabriela Mosquera (D-Camden, Gloucester) has been selected to lead the committee again in the 219th session. Mosquera released the following statement in response:
“I want to thank Democratic leadership for naming me Chair of the Women and Children Committee again for this legislative session. The work we do in this committee is highly important to me, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue leading our efforts to assist the women and children throughout our state.
“As a mother, I understand many of the unique challenges and needs of both women and children. We have been able to do a lot over the years to help protect and support these populations, but our work is never finished.
“I promise to continue advocating on their behalf through my role as Chair of this committee, and look forward to working alongside my colleagues in the Assembly to address the issues that matter the most.”
