***MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE*** Assemblymen Eustace & Gusciora Lead the General Assembly in Remembering and Honoring the Victims of the Orlando Shooting

The Assemblymen Forewent the Traditional ‘Moment of Silence’ in Favor of a ‘Moment of Action’

(TRENTON) — Assemblymen Timothy J. Eustace (D-Bergen) and Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer) issued a multimedia package Thursday in which they paused the normal deliberations of the New Jersey General Assembly to honor and remember the victims of Sunday’s Orlando shooting tragedy that targeted the LGBTQ community.

The Assemblymen — the only two openly gay members of the New Jersey Legislature — called for a moment of action at the state and federal level, underscored by members in the chamber wearing badges bearing the names of each of the 49 victims.

The General Assembly subsequently passed legislation aimed at overturning efforts by the Christie administration to weaken gun safety regulations in New Jersey (ACR-175).

The multimedia package consists of Assembly members Eustace and Gusciora’s comments on the floor and audio of same.
