***MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE*** Excerpts from HCDNNJ News Conference on Lead Abatement With Speaker Prieto, Assemblywomen Spencer & Muoio

(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson), Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee Chairwoman L. Grace Spencer (D-Essex) and Assemblywoman Elizabeth Maher Muoio (D-Mercer) issued a multimedia package Wednesday of excerpts from a news conference with the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey (HCDNNJ) on the topic of funding lead abatement in the Garden State.

The HCDNNJ news conference focused on legislation (A-1378) sponsored by Spencer and Muoio, that would add $10 million in funding to the state’s Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund for fiscal year 2016. The Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund provides financing to address and abate lead-based paint in New Jersey in a comprehensive and focused manner.

The multimedia package consists of excerpts from the news conference from Prieto, Spencer and Muoio, as well as from advocates and residents.
