(TRENTON) — Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo (D-Atlantic) issued a multimedia package Friday on some of the legislative steps he is taking to help support Atlantic City and encourage reinvestment in the city and surrounding areas.

The multimedia package consists of comments from Mazzeo and audio and a transcript of same.

The video can be accessed directly via our website — www.assemblydems.com — or by clicking here.

The audio file is available upon request.

A transcript of comments is appended below:

Assemblyman Vincent Mazzeo (D-Atlantic):
“I’m a small business owner in Atlantic County; I have a lot of skin in the game as far as what’s important to Atlantic City and Atlantic County. I’m committed to Atlantic City to get it back to where it has to be in economic development, job creation and property tax relief.

“Right now to help Atlantic City, I introduced a bill, the Urban Enterprise bill; it’s going to help businesses not only invest but also get residents and customers to come in Atlantic City to shop because they’ll get a 3.5 percent sales tax. Also, it’ll give the businesses a $1500 tax credit for those who they hire, going forward.

“We’re looking different ways to establish some type of investment in Atlantic City. Atlantic City was added to the Economic Opportunity Act to provide some type of incentives for businesses to come in and invest in Atlantic City, for obvious reasons, for employment, to get Atlantic City back going as not only a gaming industry but a non-gaming industry, which we’re trying to do right now.”
