(TRENTON) — Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson) and Assembly Education Committee Chair Patrick J. Diegnan, Jr., issued a multimedia package Thursday of their excerpted comments from a news conference announcing the creation of a coalition between the legislators, employers and education leaders to support educational opportunities in New Jersey that focus on career and technical education.

According to its mission statement, the “New Jersey Employer Coalition for Technical Education” is a partnership of 100-plus businesses, education, labor and government leaders who are committed to meeting the skilled labor challenges of the global economy. The coalition aims to promote educational opportunities that help prepare students for both college and technical careers after high school and will work to expand county vocational-technical schools and programs.

The multimedia package consists of video excerpts of Prieto and Diegnan from the news conference and audio of same.
