Using Governor’s Own Words, Calls Plan ‘Unconscionable’

(TRENTON) — Assembly Transportation, Public Works and Independent Authorities Chairman John S. Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) issued a multimedia package Friday criticizing Gov. Christie’s recently announced proposal to keep New Jersey’s Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) solvent for another five years.

Christie’s proposal relies heavily on borrowing through bonds and on funding that would have gone to pay for the now defunct Access to the Region’s Core (ARC) rail tunnel project under the Hudson River – exactly the types of tactics that, just over a year ago, Christie decried as “unconscionable.”

The multimedia package consists of a video of Wisniewski’s news conference, audio of same and a news release outlining some of Wisniewski’s specific complaints about the TTF proposal in greater detail.

The video can be accessed directly via our website — www.assemblydems.com — or by clicking here.

The audio file is appended to the e-mail as an attachment.
