Muoio: NJ Transit has Failed in its Mission to Serve Passengers Safely & Reliably

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Elizabeth Maher Muoio (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) issued the following statement during Friday’s joint legislative hearing on the problems and delays that have plagued Amtrak and NJ Transit in recent weeks:

“These delays affect people’s lives. It means missed soccer games, missed family meals, missed school functions. For one young Hoboken woman, it means never coming home again.

“We have received more constituent complaints from the 15th legislative district on NJ Transit, than on any other state agency or service. The Governor recently talked about the complaints he’s received about United Airlines, and chastised the company for its problems. To the Governor, I would say, before you start complaining about other agencies, look to your own house. To NJ Transit, I must say, you have failed in your mission to serve your passengers safely and reliably.”
