Muoio: Speak Out Against ExxonMobil Settlement

Assemblywoman Elizabeth Maher Muoio (D-Mercer/Middlesex) had the following published recently in The Times of Trenton:

“For decades, thousands of acres of our precious natural resources have been forfeited to contamination caused by the operations of ExxonMobil and its predecessors. Yet, this deal appears to be not just a mere slap on the wrist for the corporation, but also a slap in the face of New Jersey’s residents who, frankly, deserve better from those tasked with protecting their interests.

“People who wish to register their dissatisfaction with the agreement must do so by the close of the open comment period, June 5. Comments may be submitted electronically to ExxonMobilBaywaySettlement@dep.nj.gov, and should reference ‘Exxon Mobil Bayway Settlement‘ in the subject line or by sending hard copies to: Office of Record Access, NJDEP, Attn: Exxon Mobil Bayway Comments, PO Box 420, Mail Code 401-06Q, Trenton, NJ 08625-0420.”
