N.J. Assembly Speaker Prieto: New Jersey is Watching Republican Flip-Floppers

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen) released the following statement Thursday after Republicans again failed to support overriding Gov. Christie’s veto of legislation (A-3593) to require notification of local law enforcement before expungement of mental health records of prospective firearms purchaser.
The bill sponsored by the Republican leader previously passed the Assembly 74-0:

“Steadfastly flip-flopping and putting a governor’s political ambitions above the public’s interest and safety is yet another example of why Republicans are becoming an endangered species in the New Jersey Assembly.
“New Jerseyans are smart and they are watching. They know who is doing the right thing and who is not. They will make their voices heard.
“Republicans will get another chance to do the right thing. If they don’t, they will pay a price.”
