NJ Assembly Environment Chair Eustace Calls Plans to Pull U.S. Out of Climate Deal "Irresponsible"

(Trenton) – Assemblyman Tim Eustace (D-Bergen, Passaic) issued the following statement on the possibility of the Trump Administration pulling out of the Paris climate agreement:

“Pulling out of the climate agreement would be an irresponsible course of action for America and the world. As the world’s second-largest carbon polluter, the U.S. should be leading by example in regards to addressing climate change and tackling carbon pollution. Instead, President Trump chooses to ignore climate science and make environmental concerns a lesser priority.

“175 countries signed on to this climate agreement aimed at saving our planet from, basically, ourselves by reducing our carbon footprint as a nation. It’s a shame we have a President who does not see the importance of protecting our environment and making this world a better, healthier place to live for present and future generations.”
