Override of Christie Veto of Bill to Allow for Automatic Voter Registration as Part of Driver’s License Application & Renewal Tops Thursday Assembly Session

Aquaculture, Domestic Violence Victim Protections, Deterring Steroid Abuse among Students & Equal Rights for Pregnant Higher Education Students Also on Tap

(TRENTON) – The Assembly on Thursday will vote to override Gov. Christie’s veto of legislation that would allow for automatic voter registration as part of driver’s license application or renewal. The bill (A-1944) passed the Assembly 54-25 in June.
The Assembly will also vote on bills to, among other things, boost aquaculture projects in New Jersey, permit domestic violence and sexual assault victims to testify by closed circuit television, deter steroid use among students and ensure equal rights and opportunities for pregnant students in institutions of higher education.
