Pinkin Receives Award for Service to Local Government

Received the 2014 Outstanding Women in Government Award in Atlantic City

(ATLANTIC CITY) – Assemblywoman Nancy J. Pinkin (D-Middlesex) received the 2014 Outstanding Women in Government Award at the New Jersey State League of Municipalities 99th Annual Conference in Atlantic City on Thursday.

Along with Assemblywoman Holly T. Schepisi (R-Bergen), Pinkin was recognized for her service to the East Brunswick Town Council, where she served as a member from 2005 to her election to the General Assembly in November 2013. It was presented by the League’s Women in Municipal Government Committee.

“I am deeply honored for this recognition and I thank the League for the award. Being a local public servant was a humbling, yet rewarding experience. Words cannot adequately convey my appreciation to the members of the committee for this honor. It is my hope that award will inspire more women to enter public service and run for office,” said Pinkin.

Assemblywoman Pinkin represents the 18th Legislative District which includes East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield and South River. She was first elected to the Assembly in 2013 after serving on the East Brunswick Town Council since 2005.
