In response to the release of the Legislative Select Oversight Committee’s report on the Murphy campaign’s handling of a sexual assault allegation, committee member Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin (D-Middlesex) released the following statement:
“After months of investigation, we’re still left with many questions about how Katie Brennan’s serious allegation against a fellow employee was handled by her superiors. One thing, however, is crystal clear; her allegation was not taken as seriously as it should have been, and we cannot let this happen to anyone ever again.
“The work of this committee will help the State take the next steps in putting new best practices and policies in place that will protect all of our employees going forward. This will help us ensure all who raise their voice about alleged harassment or assault are properly heard and respected.”
