Pinkin: Support for Increased Information About Palliative Care

(TRENTON) — Assemblywoman Nancy J. Pinkin (D-Middlesex) had the following published recently on the news website Tapinto.net:

“Palliative care is a vital and expanding area of health care delivery. It is comprehensive care that focuses on physical, emotional and social needs of patients suffering from chronic illness. Its goal is quality of life. The American Cancer Society defines palliative care as specialized medical care for individuals with serious illnesses. It allows teams of doctors, nurses, social workers and other health care professionals to work together to improve life for people of all ages with illnesses such as cancer, cardiac disease, respiratory disease, kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, ALS, and others…”
