Pintor Marin Statement on Assembly Budget Committee Public Hearing Announcement

(TRENTON) – Assembly Budget Chair Eliana Pintor Marin issued the following statement on the upcoming public hearings to be held by the panel this March:

“Public hearings are a critical and influential component of the budget process. This is our opportunity as legislators to gain insight into the state’s economy and residents’ concerns as we discuss and determine the state’s spending plan for the next fiscal year.

“Input from all stakeholders is important, but to hear directly from New Jersey citizens who work here, raise their families here, own businesses and contribute to our state in any way is invaluable.

“There are many big issues and policy initiatives on the horizon that aim to make New Jersey a better place to live. With that said, we’re at the very beginning of the process with three months of listening and learning ahead of us. Budget committee members and I look forward to working together to put forward a spending plan that meets our obligations and works best for New Jersey residents now and in the future.”
