Assemblywoman Nellie Pou (D-Bergen/Passiac) today extended her best wishes to her district-mate, Senator John Girgenti, upon the announcement of his retirement at the end of this term.

“I’ve had the pleasure of serving alongside John in representing the people of Bergen and Passaic for more than a decade. Few people understand the issues that affect our district the way he does and none have fought as tirelessly as he has for our constituents.

“During his more than 30 years in the legislature he has improved the lives of countless New Jerseyans, fighting for tougher laws to protect our safety and well-being. His commitment and dedication will be sorely missed and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said Pou.
