Prieto: Budget Numbers Getting Worse by the Second

(TRENTON) – Assembly Budget Chairman Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen) released the following statement Tuesday on word state revenues could be down an additional $50 million to $100 million:

“These revenue numbers are getting worse by the second. The so-called New Jersey Comeback is as much a fable as the Jersey Devil, except that folk tale may actually be more realistic.
“We have a serious budget problem on our hands, and it’s time for the governor to put the slogans away and begin working together with us to responsibly fix it. This is not the time for national ambitions and tax cuts that benefit the rich. This is time to protect New Jersey’s middle-class.”
